The Swaddling
Not a creature you fight so much as a fate you refuse: a slack winding-sheet of grey silk that drifts the corridor and wraps whatever slows down. It is warm inside the wrap — the cold never reaches the weight it presses down on you. Every blow it lands smothers the light you read by: when it strikes, it devours your sealed omens. And it settles over stonework the way it settles over you: at the start of each of your turns the sodden sheet presses a course flat out of whatever you are raising, so your wall rises slower under the weight. When it is hurt it does not brace - it opens one of the older bundles and drinks.

On the shallowest floor it appears on it has 117 HP and its attacks carry +1. On the deepest, 146 HP and +2. The printed move text never changes — the number does.
- 🔥 Pall-Sear
- Whenever one of your hits lands, the foe heals that much. Decays by 1. The shroud cauterises what you open — many small hits feed it, one clean blow does not.
