The Wallmason

The Wallmason portrait

A hulking mason built of mortared block and grey rope-silk — no spider in it at all. It works the gallery smaller around you, exit by exit, in stone and wet silk-mortar; and it works your wall the same way in reverse: at the start of each of your turns it hooks a course back out of whatever you are raising, so your wall rises slower every turn — and if you are raising nothing, it takes it straight out of the guard you were carrying. Frost never sets in wet mortar: the cold does not slow the course it presses you into.

Keywords on this page
🛡 Guard
Absorbs incoming damage. Resets at the start of its turn.
🧱 Mortar-Creep
Whenever you gain Guard from a card, the foe gains that much Guard. Decays by 1. The mortar sets on both of you — turtling hardens the thing you are trying to kill.
🪨 Crush-Weight
Deals that much damage at the end of your turn, straight through Guard, and it NEVER fades. The weight only grows.
